Viejas Casino Ordered to Ante Up Bonuses for Union Workers

The Viejas Casino and Resort in California illegally stopped matching year-end bonuses for its nonunion employees and employees who are represented by the United Food and Commercial Workers Union, the NLRB decided.

The National Labor Relations Board decision illustrates the board’s reluctance to find a union has waived its right to bargain about employee compensation unless the waiver is expressed in clear and unmistakable terms.
