Veterans Affairs Union Pact Restored by Judge’s Temporary Order

The Department of Veterans Affairs must honor its collective bargaining agreement with the American Federation of Government Employees while the parties litigate the legality of its cancellation, a Rhode Island district judge ruled.

The preliminary injunction, granted by Judge Melissa DuBose of the US District Court for the District of Rhode Island, requires the VA to reinstate its three-year master collective bargaining agreement with the AFGE’s National Veterans Affairs Council, which represents over 300,000 department employees.
