Vee Pak Must Face Class Suit Over Alleged Anti-Black Hiring

Black workers who sued Vee Pak Inc. and staffing agencies over the alleged implementation of a hiring policy that disfavored Black people were granted class certification.

The proposed class and subclasses are sufficiently numerous, common, and typical, the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois ruled Tuesday. Lead plaintiffs estimated that the three subclasses will total more than 13,000 members who were allegedly denied Vee Pak work assignments by Staffing Network, Most Valuable Personnel, or Alternative Staffing Inc. because they were Black.
