Data on weekly applications for US unemployment insurance are due to be published as usual on Thursday following the end of the federal government shutdown, according to a Department of Labor spokesperson.
- Weekly reports were not released during the government shutdown; no news releases that would have been published from Oct. 2 through Nov. 13 will be published, the spokesperson says
- A technical issue caused the early posting of data for the week ended Oct. 18 on the Labor Department website, according to the spokesperson. The complete series will be available by close of business on Thursday
