US Citizenship and Immigration Services announced its second acting director in as many weeks.
Kika Scott was appointed acting chief this week at the Homeland Security subagency that administers immigration benefits including employment-based visas, according to a release on its website.
She began the role Feb. 9, the same day that Andrew Davidson had been set to take over as acting director with Scott serving as acting deputy director, according to an earlier announcement to the agency’s staff. Davidson is now listed as acting deputy director.
Scott previously served as chief financial officer at the agency’s Office of the Chief Financial Officer. She’s also served as director of the budget office at Immigration and Customs Enforcement, overseeing $6 billion in ICE resources.
USCIS didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
President Donald Trump has yet to name his pick for permanent director at USCIS.
