Upstate N.Y. Flooring Maker Faces $166,000 in Safety Fines

Timberline Hardwood Floors LLC faces $166,265 in safety fines for violations involving dangerous noise levels, hazardous machines, and other issues, under an Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission judge’s ruling.

The decision, issued Thursday, found that the Fulton, N.Y., hardwood flooring manufacturer didn’t address serious safety issues between 2012, when it was cited by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and 2018, when Timberline faced a new inspection and a second set of citations from OSHA. Judge Dennis Phillips’ ruling is now the commission’s final decision, OSHRC said in a posting on its website.
