UPS, Teamsters Reach Tentative Deal on Master Contract (1)

United Parcel Service Inc. and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters reached a five-year deal for the master contract covering thousands of small package workers nationwide.

The deal, however, is subject to the ratification of several supplemental agreements covering local unions, the Teamsters and UPS said in separate statements June 22. Negotiations also continue on a contract covering 11,000 UPS Freight employees. About 260,000 workers are covered under the national agreement.
