UPS, Teamsters Reach Deal to Speed Up Driver Heat Protections

United Parcel Service Inc. will speed up its rollout of thousands of air-conditioned delivery vehicles under a new agreement with the Teamsters, after the union complained the company was moving too slowly on its previous commitments.

The deal is a follow-up to the five-year nationwide contract reached in 2023. It adds a plan to retrofit 5,000 existing vehicles on top of the prior agreement for UPS to include air conditioning in newly purchased vehicles.
