UPS Ex-Worker Allegedly Called ‘Too Old’ Advances Age Bias Claim

A former United Parcel Service Inc. employee who says a supervisor called him “too old and too slow” can pursue the age portion of his discrimination suit against the company, a federal judge said.

The 69-year-old worker adequately alleged that he lost his job after a UPS supervisor denigrated his age, the US District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana said. However, the ex-mail handler’s race and national origin discrimination and retaliation claims can’t move forward, the Tuesday order said.
