Unum, Workers Agree to $14.8 Million Settlement to End Wage Suit

Unum Group Corp. has agreed to pay $14.8 million to settle a class action alleging the insurance company misclassified workers as exempt from overtime pay.

The deal resolves claims brought by a group of former Unum employees, who alleged the company violated federal and state wage and hour laws when it failed to properly pay some workers after it misclassified them as being exempt from overtime pay.
