Three former employees of Mondelez Global, LLC’s Fair Lawn, N.J. bakery received a monetary award totaling $2.3 million in March, according to the National Labor Relations Board Friday.
The former employees, who were icing mixers and floor helpers, were unlawfully suspended and terminated in retaliation for their union support or otherwise engaging in protected concerted activities, according to a 2020 NLRB decision.
Mondelez agreed to a compliance stipulation on March 11 approved by Region 22, paying the three employees $2,313,126 and expunging all references to the unlawful suspensions and discharges from their files, according to the NLRB.
