University Fights Off Fired Nurse’s Vaccine Religious Bias Case

Accommodating a Christian nurse’s request for a religious exemption to a Covid-19 vaccination policy would have posed an undue hardship for the Oregon university behind the children’s hospital where she worked, a federal judge said.

Oregon Health & Science University demonstrated that it couldn’t accommodate the nurse’s religion-based objections to the vaccine without posing an undue hardship during an earlier stage of the coronavirus pandemic, the US District Court for the District of Oregon said, granting summary judgment in favor of Oregon’s largest public hospital system.
