Members of the International Association of Machinists who work for United Launch Alliance went on strike after rejecting a contract proposal from the company.
The 600 members, who work in three locations, voted May 6 to spurn—as expected—the “last, best, and final offer” from ULA. Their contract expired midnight May 6 and by the next morning, the workers were on the picket lines, a union representative said. The strike will continue until ULA agrees to head back to the bargaining table, the representative said.
