United Airlines Sued Over Wage, Credit Reporting Violations

United Airlines hourly workers at airports in California were subjected to regular violations of the state’s wage and hour laws, including failure to pay earned wages and provide breaks, a suit filed Wednesday in San Francisco alleges.

United also improperly conducted background checks and obtained credit reports on prospective employees without first obtaining valid authorization consent forms in violation of federal and state credit laws, the lawsuit says.

Employees say they frequently worked more than 40 hours a week without being paid overtime, and that the company didn’t factor in all forms of compensation into the regular rate for overtime ...
