United Airlines Not Liable to Flight Attendant Fired Over Fracas

United Airlines Inc.'s reasons for firing a flight attendant weren’t a pretext for disability discrimination, a federal court in California ruled.

Nanci Williams, who had long been on some form of medical leave following an in-flight concussion, boarded a United plane in December 2015 with her parents and husband, bound for Cancun, Mexico. They were using a discounted-ticket program for employees and their families, according to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.
