Unions Win Same Share of 2020 Mail, In-Person Elections (2)

Unions have prevailed in seven of 10 elections to represent private sector workers during 2020 regardless if the votes were cast in person or by mail due to the Covid-19 pandemic, according to a Bloomberg Law analysis of election results.

Unions have won 72.2% of the 313 mail-ballot elections and 70.5% of 329 manual elections tallied through Oct. 16. Those results are consistent with a union win rate of 71.9% for the representation elections conducted from 2015 to 2019.

Voter turnout was 69.1% for mail-ballot elections and 74.8% for in-person contests, the analysis of 2020 election results showed. Those figures ...
