Unions, Employers Unite Behind Hospital Price Transparency Bill

Employers and unions that together represent more than 21 million workers have called on Senate leaders to support newly introduced legislation to strengthen requirements that hospitals and other medical care providers make their prices public.

“The transparency provisions in this bill will empower employers and unions like ours, which provide coverage to nearly 160 million Americans, to greatly reduce our health plan costs, improve our business competitiveness, and share savings with employees through higher wages and lower premiums,” the Wednesday letter signed by 75 employers and unions said.
