Georgia is poised to withhold job-creation incentives from businesses that voluntarily recognize a union without a secret-ballot election, after state lawmakers sent legislation to Gov. Brian Kemp’s (R) desk.
The House passed the bill (SB 362) Wednesday on a mostly party-line vote of 96-78, after it cleared the Senate Feb. 8 with a vote of 31-23, with Democrats opposed. Kemp proposed the legislation and is expected to sign it.
