Union Financial-Disclosure Rule Clears White House Review

A proposed rule aimed at updating financial disclosure forms unions are required to submit each year was approved by the White House regulatory office, signaling it could be released to the public in coming days.

The rule will likely be the administration’s last attempt at bolstering financial oversight of unions during President Donald Trump’s first term. The Labor Department’s Office of Labor-Management Standards hasn’t provided details about the proposal beyond a short description included in the semiannual regulatory agenda, published in late June, which said DOL “will review modernization of the annual financial reports filed by labor organizations.”
