Union Election Win Stays Despite Delayed Mail Ballots, NLRB Says

The National Labor Relations Board signed off on a union victory in a mail-in election in which ballots from only three of the 14 workers eligible to vote arrived in time to be counted.

A divided three-member NLRB panel Thursday rejected CenTrio Energy South LLC’s challenge to an NLRB regional director’s decision certifying the workers’ choice to join UA Plumbers and Steamfitters Local Union 60. The company said six workers were willing to testify that they timely mailed ballots that nonetheless didn’t reach the regional office by the count.
