After a strong start to 2020, salary increases in collective bargaining agreements are beginning to back off their year-to-date highs, according to Bloomberg Law data. Despite the slowed momentum, average union wage gains are still outpacing their performance at the same point last year.
Contract settlements this year have included an average 3.5% overall salary hike in their first year, according to the latest bi-weekly update of Bloomberg Law’s Union Wage Database. That’s off a high of 3.8% two weeks ago but still above the 3.3% mark at the same point last year.
