UniFirst Corp. must pay a former district sales manager in Missouri who was having lower back issues nearly $6.5 million for discrimination and retaliation, a state jury decided.
The Missouri Circuit Court for the County of St. Louis jury said Scott Caldwell proved his claims of disability discrimination and retaliation for complaining about disability bias and seeking job accommodation under the Missouri Human Rights Act. Caldwell also proved he was retaliated against for filing a workers’ compensation claim, the jury said.
