Unemployment Rates in 10 US States Fall to Lowest on Record

Unemployment rates in 10 US states reached their lowest on record in April, adding to evidence of persistent tightness in the nation’s labor market.

Nebraska and Utah recorded the lowest rates at 1.9%, well below the 3.6% for the nation as a whole, according to Labor Department figures released Friday. Unemployment rates in Minnesota, South Dakota, Idaho and Alabama were all below 3% last month and at the lowest in data back to 1976.
