UFP Accused by EEOC of Harassing Black Muslim Employee, Others

A Black Muslim lumber pack maker at UFP Industries’ plant in Ranson, W.Va., was subjected to persistent race- and religion-based harassment, which supervisors and others failed to correct despite his repeated complaints, the EEOC alleged in a federal lawsuit.

Eric Davis was ultimately fired because he is Black and because he filed a discrimination charge with the agency, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission said Monday.

The racial abuse also was directed at Kevin Ross and other current and former Black employees of UFP Ranson LLC, the suit said.
