Uber Violates Labor Laws, Massachusetts Drivers Claim

A group of Uber drivers in Massachusetts accuse the company of violating state and federal labor law in a new lawsuit filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts.

Uber wrongly treats its drivers as independent contractors, rather than employees, thereby denying them the minimum wage, according to the complaint. The company also fails to pay them overtime and provide them with various other protections required by Massachusetts law and the federal Fair Labor Standards Act, the drivers claim.
