Uber, Lyft, and DoorDash drivers’ future pay and benefits in Massachusetts could wind up in the hands of the state’s voters through six proposed ballot initiatives that are undergoing review ahead of Election Day 2024.
The proposals are teed up for a review of voters’ signatures starting Wednesday in the Secretary of the Commonwealth’s office before potentially advancing to the state legislature for consideration in January. If state lawmakers don’t enact them and they meet all other requirements—including surviving potential legal challenges—they’ll go to voters on the state’s November 2024 ballots.
