Uber Settles Challenge to Colorado Driver Pay Disclosure Law

Uber Technologies Inc. and Colorado’s labor department agreed to settle the ride-hail company’s litigation challenging a state law that requires detailed disclosure of driver pay information.

Uber moved to voluntarily dismiss the case in a Tuesday court filing, noting the parties had resolved their dispute but without disclosing any details of the settlement.

The contested Colorado law (SB 24-075) requires Uber and similar businesses to inform drivers and riders about the amount of each fare that the companies keep for themselves, among other details. Uber said the law violates its First Amendment rights by compelling speech.
