A lawsuit alleging Uber Technologies Inc. is sending “false and misleading” information to California drivers to pressure them into voting for a state ballot initiative that would make gig workers independent contractors will proceed in state court, after a federal court declined jurisdiction.

There’s just not enough money at stake in this case to justify federal court jurisdiction under the Class Action Fairness Act, Judge Jon S. Tigar of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California said Tuesday.
