Uber Gets Judge to Toss Drivers’ Additional Wage Claims, for Now

Uber Technologies won a bid to dismiss additional class claims brought by drivers, bound by a prior settlement, in litigation alleging the gig company violated California labor and business laws by misclassifying them and others as independent contractors, according to a federal court ruling.

The drivers, who asserted claims on behalf of those who used Uber’s app after March 2019, failed to explain how they calculated their total hours worked.

They also didn’t identify their applicable pay rates and the exact number of hours worked in a given week, or put forth any specific facts showing that Uber’s alleged misclasification ...
