UAW Seeks Union Vote for Metropolitan Museum of Art Employees

UAW says it petitioned the National Labor Relations Board for a union election for almost 1,000 full-time and part-time staff at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art.

• Says the employees cite “long term pay inequities, lack of job protection and ever-increasing workloads” in seeking to unionize
• Employees contacted UAW Local 2110, which previously organized staff at cultural institutions including the Guggenheim Museum, the Whitney Museum and Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts
