U.S. Won’t Enforce Contractor Vaccine Mandate With Suits Pending

The Biden administration won’t take action against existing federal contractors subject to a Covid-19 vaccine mandate as courts grapple with a nationwide block to the executive order, government officials advised in updated guidance Thursday.

The Office of Management and Budget issued guidance on implementing requirements of the contractor mandate, following preliminary injunctions from Georgia and Kentucky federal courts. The initial mandate was set to take effect Jan. 4; many companies already had begun a vaccination requirement process.
