U.S. Women’s Soccer Path to Pay Bias Appeal Clarified by Judge

The U.S. women’s soccer team must wait until at least April 12 before asking the Ninth Circuit to revive their allegations against the sport’s governing body that they are paid less than the men’s team players because of sex, as a California federal judge Tuesday declined, for now, to finalize his prior dismissal of those pay discrimination claims.

The U.S. District Court for the Central District of California instead only conditionally granted the players’ motion for partial final judgment, contingent on the team and the U.S. Soccer Federation Inc. finalizing their proposed settlement of other claims in the landmark lawsuit. ...
