U.S. Withdraws Rule Shifting H-1B Selection to Wage-Based System

The Department of Homeland Security is withdrawing a rule that would have shifted the selection of H-1B applications from a lottery system to a process that prioritized high-wage positions.

The withdrawal complies with a September federal court ruling that vacated the rule, the agency said in a Federal Register notice released Tuesday. The final regulations were set to take effect Dec. 31.
