U.S. Wage Regulator Nominee Teed Up for Final Senate Votes

The full Senate will soon vote on whether to advance the nomination of David Weil to be the U.S. Department of Labor’s top wage-hour regulator, after Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) filed a procedural motion to limit floor debate.

  • Schumer filed for cloture Monday night on Weil’s nomination to be administrator of DOL’s Wage and Hour Division, setting up a floor vote in coming days. If Weil clears that hurdle, he would then be eligible for a final confirmation vote.
