U.S. Labor Department Announces New H-2A Wage Rates for 2021

The U.S. Labor Department has announced new wage rates employers of H-2A seasonal guest workers must pay.

Made public in a Federal Register posting on Friday, the “adverse effect” wage rates are the minimum rates the DOL has determined must be offered and paid by employers to H-2A workers and workers in corresponding employment based on a particular occupation and area.

The rates are meant to ensure that the wages and working conditions of similarly employed workers in the U.S. will not be adversely affected, the agency said in its notice.
