Ex-ComEd CEO Will Be Granted New Trial, Seventh Circuit Says (1)

In a stunningly swift decision, a Seventh Circuit panel said Tuesday just hours after oral argument that they’d grant ex-ComEd CEO Anne Pramaggiore a new trial and ordered her release from custody. An opinion formally granting a new trial will follow, they said.

Her “ComEd Four” co-defendant, ex-lobbyist Michael McClain, also was ordered released. He doesn’t pose a flight risk and the appeal “raises a substantial question that will result in an order for a new trial,” the panel said.
