Twitter Seeks Quick End to Sex Bias Suit Over Mass Layoffs, RTO

Women suing Twitter Inc. for alleged classwide sex discrimination in layoffs and return-to-work policies the company implemented when Elon Musk took over failed to support their theories of bias, the company said.

The Dec. 7 lawsuit said new policies demanding unreasonably long hours and requiring employees to give up their home-based work and return to the company’s physical offices forced women who weren’t laid off to quit. The suit, which was filed in the US District Court for the Northern District of California, asserted claims of both disparate treatment—or intentional—bias and disparate impact—or unintentional—bias.
