Trump’s Worker Overtime Boost Is Also a Boon for Businesses

The Labor Department packaged its expansion of overtime wage access as the Trump administration’s “latest efforts to support America’s workers,” even as much of the support for the regulation came from the business community.

The White House classified the final rule extending overtime pay coverage to 1.3 million Americans as a “deregulatory action,” saying it will reduce burdens on employers when compared with a more ambitious Obama-era overtime initiative that never took effect.
