Trump’s Pick for Workplace Safety Agency Advances in Senate

The Senate’s labor committee approved President Donald Trump’s nominee to lead the country’s workplace safety watchdog.

The Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee voted 12-11, a partyline vote, Thursday to advance the nomination of David Keeling, the nominee for assistant secretary of labor for occupational safety and health.

Keeling was director of road and transportation safety at Amazon.com Inc. from 2021 to 2023, after serving in numerous safety positions at UPS Inc , according to his LinkedIn profile. Both companies have had numerous interactions with the agency Keeling has been selected to lead.
