Trump’s Pick for Regulatory Chief Set for Senate Grilling

The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee has scheduled a Dec. 4 hearing on the nomination of Paul Ray to be President Donald Trump’s second regulatory chief—and the panel’s top Democrat plans to question his experience for the post.

Trump announced Oct. 1 his intent to promote Ray, who’s been serving as acting administrator of the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, the agency within the White House Office of Management and Budget that reviews all significant federal regulations.
