The Senate’s labor committee advanced Acting EEOC Chair Andrea Lucas to a full floor vote to consider her nomination to serve a second five-year term.
The panel voted 12-11 along party lines Thursday on her nomination for a term at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission that would end in July 2030.
Lucas has been active in initiating changes at the commission based on directives from President Donald Trump, and the committee’s vote is a step toward solidifying Republican power at the civil rights agency.
