An employee of the Illinois National Guard filed a class action lawsuit against the Trump administration for prohibiting transgender employees from using bathrooms that align with their gender.
The lawsuit filed in US District Court for the District of Columbia said the policy, stemming from an executive order, discriminates against transgender and intersex workers in violation of Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act. The suit also claims the administration went beyond its authority in issuing the policy, in violation of the Administrative Procedure Act.
