Trump to Unwind Rules Establishing DOL Contractor Office’s Power

The Trump administration officially proposed rescinding regulations implementing an executive order that established core powers of a Labor Department office charged with auditing federal contractors for bias and ensuring they have affirmative action plans.

Proposals released Monday that seek to formally eliminate the regulations under EO 11246 and modify other related rules enforced by the agency are a key next step after President Donald Trump in January revoked the decades-old executive order.

EO 11246 had allowed the DOL’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs to police race and sex bias at companies that do business with the government.
