Trump to Call for Pay Freeze for Feds in 2019, Senate Dems Say

President Donald Trump will call for a governmentwide pay freeze for civilian federal employees in 2019, Senate Democrats said Dec. 13. They cited documents from the White House Office of Management and Budget that they said they obtained from a whistleblower.

Democrats on the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee released the information in a pair of reports they said summarize the OMB’s response to the Department of Homeland Security’s fiscal year 2019 budget request. The Democrats, led by ranking member Sen. Claire McCaskill (Mo.), said they weren’t releasing actual OMB documents for fear of exposing the whistleblower.
