Trump Taps Federal Mediation Veteran as Acting Agency Head (1)

President Donald Trump picked Richard Giacolone, a longtime Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service official, to head the agency on an acting basis.

The FMCS, which announced Giacolone’s promotion to director in a June 11 statement, has been awaiting the Senate confirmation of a permanent director. The president’s original pick for the job, a Trump loyalist named Mike Stoker, recently took a regional administrator job at the Environmental Protection Agency, though Stoker technically remains the FMCS nominee.
