Trump Takes Aim at ‘Lame Duck’ Federal Agency Labor Agreements

President Donald Trump directed agency leadership to reject any collective bargaining agreements reached but not finalized with federal workers’ unions during the last 30 days of former President Joe Biden’s term.

Agencies should immediately throw out any contracts that were “executed” but not “approved,” Trump said in a memo Friday, calling them “lame-duck CBAs” designed to “bind a new president to his predecessor’s policies.”

Agreements that have been signed by agency heads do not appear to be impacted by the policy.
