President Donald Trump has selected insurance industry business leader Daniel Aronowitz as the head employee benefits regulator at the US Department of Labor, according to a White House document sent to congressional staff and obtained by Bloomberg Law.
If confirmed by the Senate, Aronowitz would take the reins at the Employee Benefits Security Administration as it weighs keeping or reversing Biden-era moves like extending fiduciary duties of care to more retirement investment advice and reducing small employer pooling of health insurance plans.
