The White House nominated William Beach, who has a lengthy background as an economist for right-leaning organizations and Republican lawmakers, to head the Labor Department’s Bureau of Labor Statistics.
The Trump administration announced Beach’s nomination was sent to the Senate Oct. 24.
Beach is currently the vice president for policy research at George Mason University’s Mercatus Center, after stints at the Heritage Foundation and as chief economist for the Senate Budget Committee’s GOP office.
