Charles Baldis has been nominated to lead the US Office of Special Counsel, after President Donald Trump fired the last head of the OSC then saw his last nominee Paul Ingrassia withdraw from consideration amid Senate opposition.
Baldis has worked in the OSC since April 2025 and previously served as counsel for Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa). His prior experience includes working as an attorney for Liberty University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree. He holds a law degree from the University of Virginia.
