Trump Names Republican Chair of Federal Labor Watchdog Board

Feb. 12, 2025, 11:33 PM UTC

President Donald Trump designated the only Republican member of the Federal Labor Relations Authority as chair in another step to overhaul federal labor watchdogs.

Colleen Duffy Kiko was named FLRA chair on Tuesday, the agency said in a statement Wednesday. The previous chair, Susan Grundmann, has been removed from the authority’s website, but FLRA spokesperson Eric Prag declined to say if she’d been fired.

The FLRA is tasked with policing labor laws and regulations for the federal workforce as Trump pushes to shrink the it.

He fired Cathy Harris, a democratic member of the Merit Systems Protection Board, Feb. 10. Harris sued the administration Tuesday, saying that she may only be removed for “inefficiency, neglect of duty, or malfeasance.”
